Citrus Sugar Scrub
Body scrubs are a fun and luxurious addition to your bathing routine, but they can be so expensive! And often, they contain suspect ingredients that you really don’t want on your skin.

There’s no need to buy pricey scrubs though, making your own couldn’t be faster or easier! And it only takes three ingredients.

This scrub also has the added advantage of smelling just like a sugar cookie.

Ingredients:

Sugar

Sugar is actually good for your skin! Well, not if you eat it, but it’s great for using ON your skin. Read more about sugar and skincare in this great article.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is the oil extracted from the meat of matured coconuts. It is anti-viral, antimicrobial, antibacterial and protects against sunburn, blocking about 20% of harmful UV rays. It is also very moisturizing.

Essential Oils

While various Essential Oils have different benefits, many are wonderful for your skin. The Essential Oils I use can be purchased HERE

Ingredients
4 oz White Sugar
1 oz Coconut Oil
1 oz liquid carrier oil such as sweet almond
10-20 Drops Citrus Essential Oils (your choice of lemon, lime, orange or Citrus Fresh or a combination)
Instructions
Gently melt your coconut oil in warm water if it is solid.
Mix sugar and coconut oil together in a glass or metal bowl, adding coconut oil in small increments until desired scrub consistency is achieved.
Add essential oils, one drop at a time, until it smells the way you like.
You can use a variety of citrus oils and they will smell wonderful together.
Transfer your scrub to a glass or metal container. (I got mine at Ikea)
Notes
Citrus oils are photosensitive. Use this scrub at night, or at least 6 hours before entering direct sunlight, or only apply scrub to areas that will be covered with clothing.
